Now aluminum alloys are widely used in the market, including industrial aluminum, architectural aluminum, stamping aluminum, and even aerospace industry. What are the differences between these different brands of aluminum alloys? Let's make a brief introduction today;

1 series aluminum plate features:
It contains more than 99.00% aluminum, has good conductivity, good corrosion resistance, good welding performance, low strength, and cannot be strengthened by heat treatment.
Scope of application: chemical industry and special purpose. Chemical equipment (1060), industrial plants and storage containers (1100)
2 series aluminum plate features:
Aluminum alloy with copper as the main alloying element. Manganese, magnesium, lead and bismuth are also added for machinability. Disadvantages: serious intergranular corrosion tendency.
Scope of application: aviation industry (2014 alloy), screw (2011 alloy) and industries with high service temperature (2017 alloy).
3 series aluminum plate features:
The aluminum alloy with manganese as the main alloy element can not be strengthened by heat treatment, with good corrosion resistance, good welding performance and good plasticity. Disadvantages: the strength is low, but the strength can be strengthened by cold work hardening, and it is easy to produce coarse grains during annealing.
Scope of application: air conditioners, refrigerators, car bottoms and other shells that need rust prevention, oil guide seamless pipes (3003 alloy) used on aircraft, cans (3004 alloy).
4 series aluminum plate features:
Mainly silicon, not commonly used aluminum alloy. Part 4 can be strengthened by heat treatment, but some can not be heat treated.
Scope of application: it belongs to building materials, mechanical parts, forging materials and welding materials;
5 series aluminum plate features:
Mainly magnesium. It has good resistance, welding performance and fatigue strength. It can not be strengthened by heat treatment, but can only be improved by cold processing.
Scope of application: in aviation, such as aircraft fuel tank, conduit and bulletproof vest.
6 series aluminum plate features:
Mainly magnesium and silicon. Mg2Si is the main reinforcement, with medium strength, good corrosion resistance, good welding performance, good process performance (easy extrusion forming) and good oxidation coloring performance. It is a widely used alloy.
Application scope: transportation tools (such as car luggage rack, door, window, body, heat sink, compartment shell)
7 series aluminum plate features
Mainly zinc, but sometimes a small amount of magnesium and copper are added. Superhard aluminum alloy contains zinc, lead, magnesium and copper alloys, which is close to the hardness of steel. The extrusion speed is slower than that of 6-series alloy and the welding performance is good.
Scope of application: Aviation (aircraft bearing components, landing gear), rocket, propeller, aerospace.
