Advantages of Aluminum Strip for Channel Letter

The composition of the channel letters
1. Standard channel letters are 3-dimensional graphic symbol elements, and its channels are made of sheet metal, most commonly aluminum strip, because it does not rust.
2. A piece of aluminum is cut on a table, usually by a computer-controlled router. This creates the backside of the channel and is the base for the letter shape.
3. Then, the sides of the channel letter are formed by bending a width of aluminum strip around the aluminum back, called the backstroke. This return can be welded at the seams or flanged and riveted to the back to create a letter-shaped solid can. The letter cans are painted and fitted with any necessary lighting components, such as neon tubes or light-emitting diode (LED) modules.
4. A translucent plastic face, usually sheet acrylic or polycarbonate, is cut to fit the open face of the letter jar, also called a decorative cap. A decorative cap border is applied to its edges to give the letter face a complete look and to create a fastening surface to attach it to the letter can.
