Aluminum honeycomb foil specification information

• Common alloys: 3003, 3004, 3104 (3004 and 3104 have basically the same mechanical properties, 3004 is often used instead of 3104)

• Using 3004 aluminum foil as the aluminum honeycomb core substrate, it has high strength, the finished product is not easy to deform, there is no burr on the edge, and the surface flatness is high after bonding and lamination.

• Common state: H18/H19

• Common thickness: 20-100 microns, the aluminum honeycomb side length models are 5/6/8/10/12 mm.

• Common width: 914/1020mm, max. 1500mm

• The density of aluminum honeycomb is low, generally 20kg/m³～150kg/m³

Why does aluminum honeycomb foil need surface treatment?

Surface condition influence:

The oil, dirt and naturally formed loose oxide layer on the aluminum surface will seriously affect the bonding effect of aluminum honeycomb foil, so it must be cleaned and pretreated. A tight chemical conversion film is formed on the aluminum surface, and the aluminum bonding effect after treatment is good.

The purpose of surface treatment:

That is, by enhancing the adhesion of the aluminum foil surface, ensuring the strong bonding of the hot melt adhesive in the later stage, the final finished aluminum honeycomb foil has a more solid integrated structure.

Three surface treatment methods of honeycomb aluminum foil:

1. Pickling + water washing, degreasing, the surface dyne value can reach more than 50, the relatively low cost, but it is easy to form an oxide layer on the surface.

2. Silane treatment agent passivation (chromium heavy metals are prone to exceed the standard, and are currently not suitable for aluminum foil passivation). The surface atoms of the aluminum foil react with the anions in the silane to form an isolation layer with good adhesion on the surface of the aluminum foil. The cost is medium;

3. Apply epoxy varnish. The paint film has excellent physical and mechanical properties, excellent adhesion and corrosion resistance. The cost is high;
