5083 Aluminum coils Performance characteristics
1. Weldability
5083 aluminum alloy welding performance is good, can be welded by a variety of welding methods, the strength of the weld can be equal to the annealed state of the matrix strength. At the same time, it has good self-extension, cold forming, and reliable corrosion resistance, with the lowering of the temperature, the base metal and welded joint tensile strength, yield strength, elongation are increased, low temperature toughness is very good.
2. Corrosion resistance
5083 aluminum of various states have good corrosion resistance, the atmosphere, fresh water, seawater, alcohol, diesel, organic acids, concentrated nitric acid, a variety of food have good corrosion resistance. However, 5083 alloy is prone to stress corrosion cracking (scc), in order to avoid stress corrosion cracking, 5083 alloy working temperature to not exceed 65 C is appropriate.
