What are the common states of 6060 A aluminum sheet?

• O – Soft.

• T6 – Solution heat-treated and artificially aged.

• T4 – Solution heat-treated and naturally aged to a substantially stable condition.

• T651 – Solution heat treated, stress relieved by stretching then artificially aged.

• T6511 – Solution heat-treated, stress-relieved by controlled stretching and minor straightening is allowed after stretching to comply with standard tolerances then artificially aged.

Features of 6060 aluminum

1. Medium strength, good corrosion resistance, good welding performance, good process performance (easy to extrude), good oxidation coloring performance.

2. It can be formed by extrusion, forging or rolling, but it cannot be used as a wrought alloy for casting.

3. It cannot be work hardened, but is usually heat treated to produce a higher strength but lower toughness temper.

4. It is easy to bend and form, and can be stamped continuously at high speed, which is convenient for direct processing into products. No complex surface treatment is required, which greatly shortens the production cycle and reduces the production cost of the product.

5. The usage rate of 6060 aluminum in the 6 series is relatively low, 6063 and 6061 are the most used, 6082, 6160, 6125, 6262, 6005, 6463. 6063, 6060, 6463 are also relatively low
