What Is 5000 Series Aluminum Sheet/Plate Used For?
Pressure Vessels, Construction and Automotive: The 5000 series aluminum sheet and magnesium alloys are easy to weld and have good corrosion resistance for a variety of applications including pressure vessels, construction and automotive. This alloy is not suitable for use in high temperature environments.
Marine Applications: 5000 series aluminum plate has good corrosion resistance and good welding characteristics in marine atmospheres. However, since this range includes high magnesium content, stress corrosion is likely to occur.
